This improved legislation (S. 3752) adds a clear voter ID requirement for federal elections while preserving the original bill’s proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration. Together, these provisions ensure that only U.S. citizens can register and vote, require states to verify citizenship in person, and mandate the removal of non-citizens from existing voter rolls—commonsense protections supported by a strong majority of Americans.
 

On February 11th, the U.S. House fulfilled its responsibility by passing this historic election integrity legislation. The SAVE America Act now moves to the U.S. Senate, where it faces a challenging—but achievable—path to final passage.
